We’re very excited at what the Lord has been doing in India this year (2018). The Elijah Challenge is now training workers there as the Lord trained his own disciples in the gospels before he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God in Luke 9 and 10.

Luke 9:1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick. …6  So they [the Twelve] set out and went from village to village, proclaiming the good news and healing people everywhere.

Luke 10:1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. …9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

Just as Jesus did, Elijah Challenge Coordinator Subodh Jena takes disciples with him as he goes from place to place healing the sick, proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, casting out demons, and of course teaching them the Word of God. After two months of this training, Subodh sends them out to unreached Hindu areas to proclaim the gospel of the kingdom on their own. Then Subodh chooses twelve more disciples to train in the very same way over a period of two months, after which they are sent out on their own. He repeats this process every two months.

We are now hearing exciting reports from these disciples very similar to what the seventy-two disciples reported to Jesus in Luke 10:17 following their return from the field: The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”

Instead of following the missionary traditions handed down to us, we can actually go back to the Scriptures and train workers exactly as Jesus did. To read the latest reports on the ministry of our workers, click on:

By the end of this year, in addition to those we already support, we will have 72 new workers trained in this way. These workers will eventually train still other workers in the same way and so on, leading to an exponential increase in workers for the Lord’s harvest fields during these Last Days for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

Our ultimate goal with regard to training workers is to have trained one million workers around the world by 2035, resulting in one billion souls saved before the end—and the Return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
