Those who are given deep understanding of the truths of the gospel will wisely endeavor to use the short time given to them on earth to maximize and store their treasure in eternity.
Perhaps 99% of those who live in a country like America dream of being “successful”—having a good job with decent income with which to raise a family. This would include those who are followers of Jesus Christ. That would be the primary goal of nearly all who are blessed to live in a country like America.
It is nearly impossible to see the primary purpose of our existence on earth as being the maximizing and storing of our treasure in heaven. Even for believers, it is a fuzzy and distant “pie in the sky” compared to the reality of our life on earth with all its many “real” challenges.
But it is universally acknowledged that life on earth is only temporary, and that physical death is permanent. Those who are convinced that there is no life after death are sorely mistaken. There is indeed an afterlife, and it is eternal—forever and ever and ever. To us who have been given existence on earth are also given the privilege of deciding where we will go after physical death, and if we indeed choose eternal life how much will be entrusted to us there in eternity. It’s all in the Scriptures.
Those who are given deep understanding of the truths of the gospel will wisely endeavor to use the short time given to them on earth to maximize and store their treasure in eternity.
Matthew 6:32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
