Reports from Subodh Jena Kumar

Last night I received this report from our Elijah Challenge-trained & financially supported pastor Philemon Majhi  in the village of Gubel, Orissa, India:

“For the last two months I have had difficulty going from village to village due to the rains because most of the villages are situated in hilly areas. Nevertheless I did not sit around at home, but went into the villages walking through mud. After several days the weather improved, and I was glad to do the Lord’s ministry.

Visited two or three villages I saw many domestic animals which were sick. When I went into the villages and asked if anybody is sick, the people would not tell about their sickness but instead tell me about their domestic animals. After visiting such villages I thought I should minister to animals instead.

I went to a village in the hills and met with a certain family. Their goats and cows were not well as some kind of disease had afflicted them. I came to know that every year due to this condition many cows and goats had died. These cows and goats had stopped eating grass and leaves, and even the food served to them by their owners.

I ministered in a few houses in the evenings. It was very surprising that quite quickly they were very active and looked healthy whereas before they were very lethargic. The people there were amazed how domestic animals were healed without any medication. In that way I had an opportunity to share the gospel.

A woman had a severe problem with hemorrhoids, and after taking a lot of medicine she was not well. The pain was very severe, and she was not able to go to the bathroom daily. Sometimes she experienced bleeding. They were planning to undergo an operation, but I told them that if they believe in Jesus he will heal you. In this way over a few days I went to that village and ministered to her.

Wonderfully the Lord healed her and she did not have the operation. There was no more blood, no pain, and the whole family accepted the Christ.”

What a wonderful report from the field!

Thank you so much for your prayer and support.

Sincerely,
Subodh Kumar Jena
