2019 Revival Meeting in Ranau, Malaysian Borneo
.
“Revival meetings” where believers gather to be “revived” are of course wonderful. But what is, or should be, the purpose of “revival” during these Last Days?
“Revival” should not be an end in itself. We suspect that not long after a church experiences it, the fire will slowly die out and it will be back to business as usual in church. At that point we’ll need to pray for “revival” again. The process will then need to be repeated, ad nauseum.
What, then, should be done after believers are “revived”?
The original “revival”, if you will, took place at Pentecost in Acts 2 when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples. Recall that the primary purpose of the Spirit was to give them power to be witnesses for Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth (Acts 1:8). Indeed immediately after being baptized in the Holy Spirit, Peter, who had just 50-plus days earlier had denied Jesus three times, boldly proclaimed the gospel to a crowd of Jews. Three thousand people believed on Jesus as their Messiah on that occasion.
That of course was just the beginning. Acts then records much more as the disciples eventually took the gospel to the ends of their known world. They obeyed Jesus’ command in Luke 10:9 where he told them to “heal the sick who are there are tell them, ‘the kingdom of God has come near to you.’” Because of the extraordinary miracles which took place as evidence of the gospel they preached, they turned the world upside down.
This is the pattern the Church should follow after she has been “revived.” She should send trained workers from door to door and in the Third World from village to village healing the sick, casting out demons, and proclaiming the kingdom of God. Many will witness the compelling miracles and repent, putting their faith in Jesus Christ.
If we are faithful to do this as were the early disciples in Acts, we will be able to take the gospel to the ends of the whole world and fulfill the Great Commission during these Last Days before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
The Lord has called The Elijah Challenge to teach disciples effectively and consistently how to heal the sick, cast out demons, and proclaim the kingdom of God exactly as Jesus taught and trained his disciples in the gospels. After the workers are properly trained, they are sent to harvest in the Lord’s vast untouched fields.

Extraordinary reports from our faceless workers in India
The Elijah Challenge equips nameless harvest workers to reach resistant people groups effectively and fruitfully by training them to heal the sick miraculously as Jesus did (John 14:11-12)—as irrefutable evidence that Jesus is the Messiah and the only way to the One True God who created the heavens and the earth.
