During these very Last Days, the Lord is most graciously using The Elijah Challenge to help accelerate the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Through the Holy Spirit, He has shown us how to train and send workers into His vast harvest field exactly as Jesus trained and sent His disciples in the gospels.
Luke 9:1 When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, 2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
In Luke 10, the Lord trained and sent the 72 disciples in a similar way.
Luke 10:9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’
The irrefutable miraculous healings performed by the disciples in His name were the evidence that Jesus was indeed the Promised Messiah.
Unreached People Groups in these very Last Days consist predominately of people who live under the heel of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, animism, idol-worship, and sorcery. They have typically never heard of Jesus, and are very resistant to what is known as “Christianity”—which they consider a totally foreign religion from the West.
When the gospel is preached to them accompanied by humanitarian works alone, as is done traditionally, the harvest is typically meager.
But when biblical miracles like healing the sick miraculously and casting out demons — which their gods and beliefs cannot perform — accompany and confirm the preaching of the gospel, their eyes are opened wide and they show great interest in believing in the One True God through His Son Jesus Christ. Abundant harvests of souls from these resistant People Groups — reminiscent of the harvests recorded in Acts — can be reaped by workers trained in the use of the Lord’s supernatural authority and power over demons and diseases which is available to every disciple.
Since 2018 in the nation of India, now the world’s most populous nation, our trained harvest workers have won to Christ 68,000 Hindus in the Fundamentalist Hindu state of Orissa—where baptism is ILLEGAL—and in bordering states as well. These new believers are now being taught and discipled in over 1,800 house churches.
