The following is a wonderful report from Pastor Hanok Singh about a gospel event we did in Sahajanpur, Punjab. The official mentioned is appointed by the Prime Minister’s Office. He is the top government official in this area of Punjab.
“We had a 3-day evangelistic gospel event in Shajanpur. We were advertising for the meetings and received threats from local anti-Christian parties. They warned us not to continue with the meeting. In spite of the threat we continued to do our preparations. A few days before the meeting our planning committee decided to invite the top leader of the city as a chief guest.”

“As Brother Simon was sitting by the city leader he asked Simon, “when are you going to preach, how long will you preach?” Sensing his desire to hear the gospel Brother Simon took the microphone and started preaching. After 40 minutes of pure uncompromised gospel he gave the altar call, and to our surprise the leader and all the police officials stood up to pray the salvation prayer. We presented him a Bible. Close to 340 signed decision cards, all were first time listeners. Close to 200 + were healed and delivered and 17 were baptized in water.”

I spoke with Simon, our ministry coordinator, yesterday. He called to tell about something unusual that happened in his church last Sunday. He had finished preaching and asked the church to stand and praise the Lord. As the congregation responded, Simon noticed a man in the front row was crying. “Sir,” he asked, “why are you crying?” Here’s what he told Simon. “When I came in today I could not walk or stand without crutches. When you told us to stand and praise the Lord I forgot I needed crutches and stood up. Then I realized the pain I came in with was gone.” As you might expect, with no hesitation and with a deep level of faith he prayed to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. The Lord had healed this man and he walked home without the crutches.

But wait, that is not the end of his story. His family and neighbors knew it had been a long time since he could walk without the aid of crutches. So, when they saw he no longer needed crutches they asked him what happened. “How is it that you have no more pain?” The man who was healed said, “I no longer need crutches because Jesus, the Son of God, healed me today.” Soon the whole village heard the news of what Jesus had done for this lame man. Please join us in praying that the entire village will come to believe in Jesus as a result of this one man’s testimony.
Matthew 11: 4-6 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and report to John what you hear and see: the BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT and THE LAME WALK, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM. And blessed is he who does not take offense at Me.”
