On July 30, 2024 we landed at the airport in the city of Medan in the state of North Sumatra in the country of Indonesia. We were to train harvest workers there with The Elijah Challenge to reach Unreached People Groups—especially Muslims. Indonesia is the fourth most populous country in the world with more Muslims than any other country.

Immediately after landing, we proceeded to get our visitors’ visa and collect our luggage. Then we proceeded to the terminal where we sat down at a coffee shop for some refreshments while we waited for teammates Chris and Sapphire to arrive on a later flight.

Suddenly on the other side of the wide glass doors near where we were sitting, we saw the unusual sight of a Muslim woman lying on her back on the hard floor.  People, including security guards, were standing around her staring at her still form from a distance. No one had called an ambulance or called for medical help. It was said that one guard was waiting for her to expire.

Lucille and I and our Medan host watched the scene with concern for the Muslim woman. Finally I got up and went through the glass door and got down on a knee about a meter from the woman. In front of the people I began quietly commanding the woman to be healed and to get up in the name of Jesus. When she did not stir after a while, I approached her and laid my hand on her head while continuing to issue commands in Jesus’ name in front of the people.

Strangely, the security guards allowed me to do this while seemingly not allowing anyone else to approach her.

Soon after I laid my hand on her head, she opened her eyes. Before the eyes of the astonished onlookers, she then got up. After gaining her composure, she walked away completely normally.

Later I understood why the security guards allowed me to approach the woman while apparently not allowing anyone else. One of them said to his colleague in the Indonesian language “dia orang pinter”—meaning “he is a wise man”. They thought that I was a sorcerer or witch doctor.

Later I had a chance to witness to the security guards about our Messiah Jesus whose name had performed the miracle in front of the people.

Our Indonesian host Pastor Petrus Nainggolan—who took the picture of me ministering to the woman with his cell phone—wrote:
.
“Puji Tuhan. Pembukaan di bandara. Ada perempuan moslem yg jatuh dan berbuih mulutnya. Tak ada yg nolong, Ps William langsung datang dan mendoakan. Puji Tuhan, dia bangkit.
.
Semua orang heran.
.
No one helped her until Ps William pray and touch. The woman was healed.”
