The Mission of The Elijah Challenge in the Northeast Region of Brazil

A MISSÃO O DESAFIO DE ELIAS NA REGIÃO NORDESTE DO BRASIL
The Elijah Challenge is committed to training churches, missionaries, and servants of God to preach the gospel in the Northeast with power and authority just as Jesus taught and commanded his disciples in the gospels.
Luke 10:9 “Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘the kingdom of God has come near to you.’ ”
Equipped with this great power and authority over diseases and demons, the disciples as recorded in Acts took the gospel to the known world of the Mediterranean reaping extraordinary harvests among the Gentiles within decades.
One mission of The Elijah Challenge is to equip the Church in the Northeast with this very same power and authority—far, far greater than the power of idolatry and witchcraft. Servants of God equipped in this way will be able to demonstrate convincingly to unbelievers that Jesus is the only way to the Father with the evidence of powerful miraculous healings.

In 2010 over 600 disciples were trained by The Elijah Challenge at the Visitation of God which took place in Juazeiro do Norte. During the five days of the Visitation these disciples went door-to-door in the city healing the sick and proclaiming the kingdom of God as Jesus commanded above in Luke 10:9. Below are the results of this Visitation.
Total number of homes visited over five days: 9,577
Number of people healed: 1,920
Number of people who accepted Christ: 1,440
The Elijah Challenge is committed to train God’s servants to preach the gospel in this way throughout the Northeast—in order to fulfill the Great Commission.
To do this we will fly roundtrip from the United States to the Northeast at our own expense. No honorarium is required or expected. “Freely we have received, freely we give.”
