During the MCO, I have joined Elijah Challenge Ministry online and learnt how to minister to the sick using God’s given authority in Jesus’ name. I want to thank God that our church also conducted this training last year. We have been practicing it and I am excited to see how God can use us to heal the sick and set the captives free.

I would like to share 2 instances that amazed me last year 2024 to glorify our God.

I had an opportunity to minister to a young man called Nicholas over video calls.

Nicholas was born normal. But when his parents broke up, he was severely traumatised. Both parents left him to the care of his aunt. As his father remarried, he also suffered much rejection.  At the age of 5, he suddenly turned blind and mute. Besides that, he suffered many other health issues, such as skin eczema, uncontrollable bladder and running nose. Nicholas stays in KL with his aunt.  It was in 2021 that  year I joined another lady from Singapore to minister to him over video calls once or twice a week. We would pray and sing worship songs to him and encourage him to call upon the name of Jesus.

One morning, while praying for Nicholas, I received words from the Lord:

Isaiah 55:11

‘so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. ‘

Isaiah 35:5-6

“Then the eyes of the blind will be opened, and the ears of the deaf will be unstopped; then the lame will leap like a deer, and the tongue of the mute will shout for joy. “

God gave this promise on 18-8-21. The next day I shared the words with his aunt and ministry partner. We claimed the words for Nicholas, & continued rebuking the blindness to leave him and commanding his eyes to be opened.  On 17-9-22 God opened Nicholas’ eyes. He could see! And again we kept praying and claiming for his speech to be restored.  Recently, Nicholas’ aunt told us that he can speak clearer than before. On Thursday 27th Sep, he sang to us and we could understand what he was singing, “Thank You, Thank You Jesus; I am your child. All glory be to our Promise Keeper and Miracle Worker.” Indeed, God’s word is true.

That gave us great courage to continue to minister to him.

Another incident happened recently. A sister called me to pray for her. She discovered a lump on her left breast when doing a health-screening procedure locally. As she had her right breast removed before, due to tumor growth some years ago, it really worried her.  She planned to go to KL for further check-up to see if she needed to get the lump removed.

I prayed for and with her, and asked her to continue to take God-given authority to rebuke and command the lump to go. When she finally went to KL for scanning, the result was negative! It was such a relief! Praise the Lord!

Here I would like to encourage all believers in Christ never to give up praying and ministering to the sick. With mountain-moving faith we can work with the Lord to exercise God-given authority to unleash God’s power to rebuke and command sicknesses to go in Jesus’ name.  This does not mean that we should not seek medical help. We can and should if need be. Do know that God also works through doctors and nurses. At the same time God also works through believers who know their kingly authority to bring about healing to illnesses. To God be all the glory!
