Chris Villasana is a young Texan who attended The Elijah
Challenge Training at Braeswood Assembly of God in Houston in
April 2007.
When I was waiting in Chicago for my train I met an older
man who was waiting at the same gate that I was. He
had noticed that I was carrying a guitar case and was
asking me about what I did. I told him about how I was
a missionary for Jesus, and some of the experiences
that I had over the past trip. It turned out that this
man was a Christian, and had recently come to a realization
that he needed Jesus to be in more control of his life.
He desired that for his kids’ sake. Since we had
a couple of hours to wait we decided to grab a bite
to eat together, and I began to tell him my testimony,
and about God's power and love demonstrated right here
on the earth.
Before
we finished eating he stopped me and told me about this horrible
pain in his intestines
that had begun some months ago. He wanted me to pray
for it, but he didn't feel that he had quite the faith
for it to be healed. So I told him that I wanted to
show him something in the Bible that maybe he had
never quite thought of, and I told him about the authority
of Jesus and the power that He gave us through his
name. The man became very excited as I explained this to him
on the way back to our gate. And when we had put down
all of our things I said, "Okay, let’s
take authority over this intestinal pain and get rid
of it!" Because
there were a lot of other people around at this time
waiting for their trains, he said, "Right here?"
I
told him to put his hands where the pain was, so he put his
hands on his stomach and back (apparently the
pain was through his mid-section). And we rebuked
it
right there and commanded the pain to leave and
for his body to be completely healed. After the first time
he said it had only gone down slightly. So we took
authority again over the pain and it was gone, totally gone.
I
asked him to do something that he couldn't do before,
so excitedly he took out the change from his pocket and threw
it on the floor, and easily picked it up. He was
so
happy and said that he had not been able to do that
for a very long time!
He
had really caught on fire and wanted to be God's man for his
children, but now also because he wanted to serve the God who
healed him and had the power
to change everything! He became very convicted to get to know God better and
get into the Bible, so we traded information. He called me the very next day
while I was still on my way home and he told me that he had had a doctor’s
appointment as soon as he had arrived home, and when they did the tests for
that specific problem that had ailed him months before (the one we took authority
over in the train station), the tests came back that he had been completely
healed,
and they didn't know how. So that brother began to tell them about the love
and power of Jesus Christ.
