Mark 12:28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”
Due to the teaching of the Nicolaitans, science is now accepted as “god”. Through science, man can now repeat what man wanted to do in Genesis 11 below.
Genesis 11:1 Now the whole world had one language and a common speech. 2 As people moved eastward, they found a plain in Shinar and settled there. 3 They said to each other, “Come, let’s make bricks and bake them thoroughly.” They used brick instead of stone, and tar for mortar. 4 Then they said, “Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves; otherwise we will be scattered over the face of the whole earth.” 5 But the Lord came down to see the city and the tower the people were building. 6 The Lord said, “If as one people speaking the same language they have begun to do this, then nothing they plan to do will be impossible for them.
Especially in Western countries, man is now attempting to be “god” through the “language” of science. He is even contemplating “living forever” in some form through the application of science and technology. Mainstream culture in the West has essentially denied the existence of God. Through science Man has now replaced God, and “nothing he plans to do will be impossible for him”.
Since we are now “god”, the first commandment to “Love the Lord your God” has been replaced by “Love Yourself”. We love ourselves by doing whatever it takes to make ourselves “happy” and “fulfilled” in this life. Since there is no God, there is no such thing as sin. There is no heaven and no hell. Our entire focus is therefore our life on earth which is to be maximized. We unredeemed beings can be “happy” in this life only by following the desires of our flesh to the fullest.
Since there is no God to love and to serve and to please, we love and please ourselves. In this way Satan has totally corrupted the first and most important commandment from God.
In the same way, Satan has also corrupted the second commandment to love our neighbor as we love ourselves. We unredeemed beings love ourselves by following and fulfilling the desires of our flesh. Therefore we rejoice when our neighbors follow the desires and inclinations of their flesh as well. Today these desires include fornication, adultery, divorce for any reason at all, homosexuality, gay marriage, transexual ideology, non-binary ideology, abortion/infanticide, and “diversity, equity, and inclusion” also known as “DEI”.
Our full-hearted and full-throated acceptance of DEI makes us feel good about ourselves despite our own many failings in the sight of God in whom we no longer believe. It helps us to hide and cover our own sins from the conscience with which we are born and endowed by our Creator. “Loving our neighbors” in such a perverted way makes us look good in the eyes of the mainstream culture and makes us feel good about ourselves.
Through the teaching of the Nicolaitans at work in Western culture, Satan has totally corrupted the bedrock of Western civilization—the two greatest commandments of God our Creator.
