We received a video from our Elijah Challenge Coordinator in India who is based in the poverty-stricken, Fundamentalist Hindu state of Odisha (Orissa). Please have a look at the video above. In the video, the man’s sister had passed away two months earlier, leaving him approximately $200 in her bank account. But the bank required him to show proof of her death. So he went and dug up his sister’s skeletal remains bringing them to the bank…all for less than 20,000 Indian rupees from his sister’s account.
Odisha is one of the poorest states in India and is governed by fanatic Hindus. Not only is water baptism illegal there, but “forced” conversion of Hindus to Christianity can result in up to life imprisonment for believers who dare to share Jesus with the Hindus.
The Elijah Challenge also supports trained workers in the neighboring state of Chhattisgarh which has laws against Christianity similar to those in Odisha. Recently a Hindu mob attacked a Chhattisgarh pastor and his family as villagers tried to drive him out of his home. Report on the Western Journal

Despite the laws against Christianity and the ensuing persecution in these two states, our workers have been most fruitful. 3,000 miracles resulting in 72,000 Hindus accepting Jesus. Proclaiming the Kingdom of God in such hardened, resistant regions must be accompanied by healing the sick miraculously as Jesus commanded in Luke 10:9 below.
