Luke 10:1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to go. …9 Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’

One of our Asia Coordinators chose 12 disciples to be trained just as Jesus trained his disciples when he took them from village to village to heal the sick and preach the gospel. Below are the results of the first week of training.

The basis for this approach

September 21, 2017

“We started the door to door evangelism in a certain village. We did not know about what had been going on there recently. We came to know that for the past 20 days three people had passed away. Early each morning a demon would be heard screaming sounding like a baby’s cry. The villagers were so frightened that they closed their doors before evening every day.  We even spoke to a woman who had actually seen the demon.

Our disciples went door to door and asked if there were sick people present. They ministered to many sick people, and praise the Lord the sick experienced instant healing. Then we preached the gospel. We did not take any photos not wanting to confuse or frighten the villagers.

In that village one family would not allow us to enter their home, but another seven families allowed us to go in to minister to them. Over eight people were instantly healed in Jesus’ name.

A girl of about 10 years of age was suffering from malaria. For two months her body was feverish. She looked very weak, and it seemed her entire body was swollen. We ministered to her with the Lord’s power and authority, and instantly her temperature went down. She was well. We shared the gospel with her family, they believed and accepted the Christ.

For a long time a mother was suffering from arthritis in both of her legs. She was very weak and very thin.  We ministered to her, and she was very glad after experiencing miraculous healing in her body from the Lord

A young woman had two baby boys who were suffering from colds and coughing. After the disciples ministered healing to them she saw how much better they were. So she began to share her own problem with us. She had a problem with her head, feeling like something was inside her head—maybe the result of a curse which a sorcerer might have put on her. But when our brothers ministered to her, she was set free.

Afterwards we returned back to our base rejoicing and praising our Lord just as the 72 disciples did after he sent them out to “heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘the kingdom of God has come near to you.’ “

Luke 10:17 The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name.”

In this way we ministered to many villagers. In that village around 10 families believed and accepted the Christ.

Friday mornings we are having fasting prayer, especially for the entire ministry of The Elijah Challenge. Friday and Saturday evenings around 4 pm we go to a village. Please pray that God may open the door for us to reach as many villagers as possible. Thank you so much for this new approach.”

“We had another very good response from a remote village which was around 2 hours from our base.

We divided up into three groups. One group was especially fruitful. We started ministering in a particular house. People began to come one after another to be ministered to. Within 20 minutes the majority of the villagers had gathered in that house—around ninety people. Many sick people were healed as we laid hands on them in Jesus’ name.

I seized the opportunity to share the gospel with the villagers. They acknowledged that they had never heard such a thing, and had never witnessed such miracles. I asked how many wanted to know more about the Lord Jesus and accept him. To our surprise just about all of them raised their hands to accept Christ.

It was another awesome experience with our Elijah Challenge disciples.”

October 3, 2017 Update

The powerful miracle which took place for Gudia was such a wonderful opportunity for us to proclaim the good news in her village where two thousand people live. All were astonished to hear her about her healing. It opened the door for us to reach even the surrounding area to share the gospel and minister to the sick.  Gudia is a college student and now she wants to learn “power evangelism” to serve the Lord in her village area as the power of darkness has covered.

The twelve disciples I am training and I went to that area and ministered to many sick people in many homes. There were many who believed and accepted the Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour.

Then we went to another village in a hilly area which was a bit difficult for us to reach on foot. The rainy season has begun and the road is bad. But we didn’t want to lose the opportunity. We went and ministered to so many sick people in the village. Their response was very good. A good number of people believed the Christ.

A few of the many testimonies:

For two years a woman had had a knee problem following her fall in rocky terrain. Her husband took her to the hospital. The doctor recommended surgery but they declined since they could not afford it. So she he would suffer when climbing steps. She was under medication as prescribed by a doctor, but still the pain persisted. We ministered to her three times, and the Lord Jesus touched her. She was completely healed.

Another woman was not able to see properly. When the disciples ministered to her, she could see a little better. Again they ministered to her. Then she reported that she was able to see clearly.  Praise the Lord!

A man had been paralyzed in one of his legs for five years. He had been hospitalized for a long time and spent money. Afterwards he was 70% healed, but he still experienced some pain causing him difficulty in walking. Our precious Lord healed him as the disciples ministered to him. The pain in his leg disappeared, and he walked freely.

A woman had a stone in her stomach causing pain. But due to the lack of finances she had not seen a doctor.  Instead she was taking allopathic medicine made by a villager—which did not provide any relief either. When we ministered to her in Jesus’ name the stone disappeared. She was healed. Praise the Lord.”

In this way our Coordinator is training these 12 disciples to be sent out to unreached villages to heal the sick who are there, to proclaim the kingdom of God, and then to harvest souls. Every two months in 2018 a new group of 12 disciples will be trained in this way. By the end of 2018 we will have a total of 100 trained workers (including previously trained workers) in that region. Each of these 100 workers will reach seven new villages in his local area. By 2020 they will have reached 700 new villages for the kingdom of God.

Each of these workers will himself eventually repeat this process by training another 12 disciples, and so on and on—resulting in an exponential increase in the harvest—until Jesus returns.
