Basic Training I

Macarthur is a shire located about an hour outside of Sydney. We conducted Basic Training I for disciples from different churches, both evangelical and charismatic, who had been brought together by Sister Sylvia Wootton of the evangelical Church of Christ in Campbelltown. The number of registrations for the Training far exceeded expectations. A couple came all the way from near the Australian capital of Canberra to attend the Training.

The purpose of the Basic Training was to restore the spirit and power of Elijah to His disciples for the fulfillment of the Great Commission during these last days.

We began the first session by announcing to the people that the Basic Training was actually boot camp for Kingdom of God Special Forces. At the end of the session we did a demonstration of healing. An elderly man named Bob who had suffered from constant pain in both knees for 15 years hobbled forward. We called two young men named Daniel and Nathaniel to come forward to heal Bob in order to demonstrate that the Lord had in fact entrusted power and authority over infirmities to His disciples. We instructed them to lay hands on Bob's knees and to command them to be healed in the name of Jesus Christ. Afterwards before the people I asked him how he felt. He walked around on the platform, and then answered that the pain had completely disappeared. In the days to follow the pain would not return.

Heart conditions

During the second session held at a local Anglican Church, as part of the demonstration we asked those with heart disease to come to the front. Two men named Ken and Paul responded. Since they had been taking medication, they were not at that moment experiencing any obvious pain from their conditions. But Ken had tightness in his chest following two heart attacks. Paul had experienced heart failure (part of his heart had "died") and as a result could not bend over to touch his toes without feeling giddy and dizzy.

Then five brothers came forward to lay hands on them and to use the Lord's authority to minister healing to them. After two rounds of ministry, Ken could feel no more tightness in his chest. Paul was able to touch his toes with no more dizziness as he bent over. Moreover his heart (part of which was supposed to be dead) had begun to beat faster---definitely a very good sign.

Two days later, Ken reported that the tightness had not returned.

During the demonstration of healing at the third Training session three people with hearing impairment were ministered to. All three of them experienced either healing or significant improvement in their hearing. One of them was a woman who had already spent AUD $3,000 on hearing aids. Suffering from severe hearing loss, she was already learning Sign Language. But at the third session after two sisters ministered to her, she could hear someone speak to her from 30-40 feet away.

The next morning she woke up surprised to discover that she could hear birds chirping outside her home. She could hear the garbage truck drive by her house. The barking of her dog, which she could not hear previously, startled her. And she found that the volume on her TV was now far, far, way too loud for her normal hearing!

A frontal assault on the kingdom of darkness

Following this training for Special Forces for the Kingdom of God, we launched a frontal assault on the kingdom of darkness. We gathered at Pastor Graham Charlesworth's Mt. Annan Church to boldly preach the gospel and heal the infirm to demonstrate the absolute truth of the gospel to the lost. This was done not on "the mission field" in a Third World country, but in post-Christian Australia---a western country where the gospel has been available for many years and now many people have become hardened to it. Up until now, the Church here has had little power and bears little resemblance to the powerful Church in the Book of Acts. In local churches here there are many infirm people and they are not being helped.

We first preached the gospel from Mark 2, where Jesus demonstrated that he had authority to forgive sin by healing the paralytic. We then declared to the people that the miraculous healings done later in the evening through his disciples would demonstrate the same truth and show that he is the only way to the Father in heaven. After that the trained disciples rolled up their sleeves and went to work healing the infirm who were present as they had been trained to do.

Many testimonies of healing

One by one those whom the Lord healed came to us to testify. One very heavy-set woman who could barely stand up because of her very bad knees was overwhelmed and wept with joy as she strode around the hall with no difficulty. It was amazingly glorious. A deaf ear was opened up. A woman's heart condition disappeared, her husband set free from years and years of constant pain in his stomach. There was a man present who smoked 40 cigarettes a day. There was severe discomfort and phlegm in his lungs. He testified it was all gone, and repented. And there were many other testimonies as well.

Healing at a distance

One gentleman wanted to bring a friend to the meeting who was in great pain. But because of the severity of her condition she had stayed home. During the time of ministry, the brother asked the trained disciples to minister healing to his friend at a distance. Immediately afterwards he called the woman at her home on the telephone. She reported to him that the pain was almost completely gone.

People then repented from their sin and accepted Jesus Christ and Lord and Savior, including one man who had just been released from prison. This is just the beginning for these trained disciples in Macarthur.

"I shared [what happened in Adelaide] with others and with my mum who lives in Sydney and with determination she made it to The Elijah Challenge Outreach in Macarthur with the help of her friends. My mum doesn't drive and lives far away from the place where your training took place. She journeyed to where you were by train and then got a lift at a train station from her friends who live in Campbelltown (a couple of suburbs away from the Training). My mother has a few physical infirmities: she has osteoporosis, high cholesterol, womb cancer, and deaf in her right ear. My mother told me about the healing that took place in her body which she knows of: she can now hear in her right ear whereas before she couldn't. She is thanking God for the healing. She also mentioned to me that when the trained believers cast out the infirmities in her body she felt a change in her body; there was a feeling of warmth in her body."

...has been established to provide follow-up for these newly-trained disciples, and to provide organized evangelistic opportunities where they can continue to heal the sick and cast out demons.

 

Testimonies in the aftermath...

"Just wanted to thank you for your training at MacArthur NSW. Myself and my wife's faith has moved to a new level of maturity. We were the young couple who sat in the front row and traveled from Penrith. On Sunday we attended church and we prayed to God to put in our path an opportunity to show the power of Christ through our training. So as always we follow a great God, my wife was talking to a lady from church who started to share about pain she has been struggling called Cellultis which gives her constant pain in her legs. My wife and I and the elders prayed for her, and Rebecca and I spoke with power and authority and commanded the infirmity to leave, and I could feel the muscles in her legs begin to repair. It was an awesome time of healing. Sue shared there still was pain but it was better, but about an hour later she called me at home in tears and praising God that she was now completely healed and all the pain was gone and had total movement and freedom in her legs.

I just wanted to share this miraculous event with you, God called us to attend the training and then confirmed it to us personally on Sunday. We look forward to receiving the link so we can run the training at our church. And any help and advice you can offer us would be much appreciated. We will attend any training you undertake in Sydney again."

If you did, I would be handing them out left, right and center. It would help to spread the truth and power of the Gospel so much quicker."
